120cm (w) x 150cm (h) acrylics and paper, original painting on canvas
Surfing is part of the Australian psyche. Noosa is well-known for its surfing and Granite Bay in Noosa National Park is one of several popular surfing spots hence the painting's title, although it could be anywhere on the Australian coastline. In "Noosa Granite" I wanted to convey the idea of the surfer and his longboard surveying the conditions as he enters the sea. The vintage surfing collage "strip" beneath gives a surfing history and memorabilia theme whilst also representing the water. This piece can be paired beautifully with its female counterpart "Noosa First Point". Imagine this in your beach house or seaside hotel/cafe!
Signed in the lower right corner, the painting is stretched around a timber frame and the outer edges are painted black.
Title, number and signature is hand written on the rear of the canvas by the artist. Ready to hang.
